Las personas que habitan en estas zonas carecen de acceso a agua potable, saneamiento, servicios educativos y m\u00e9dicos y vivienda adecuada, entre otros.<\/p>\n<p>Para abordar estas cuestiones, las Naciones Unidas han esbozado un plan de 17 objetivos, denominado el <a href=\"https:\/\/unstats.un.org\/sdgs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible<\/a>o los ODS.<\/p>\n<p>A trav\u00e9s de esta estrategia, la ONU pretende aumentar la prosperidad, promover el bienestar, proteger el medio ambiente y acabar con la pobreza para 2030. Una de las formas en que la ONU quiere alcanzar sus objetivos es mediante la creaci\u00f3n de ciudades y comunidades sostenibles y resilientes, a trav\u00e9s del ODS 11. La tierra es fundamental para lograr una sociedad resiliente y sostenible, porque nos proporciona recursos para vivir y se convierte en el terreno s\u00f3lido sobre el que las familias pueden construir sus casas. Sin embargo, debido a la gran demanda de suelo que genera la r\u00e1pida urbanizaci\u00f3n, los valores siguen subiendo y el suelo se vuelve m\u00e1s escaso. Estos dos elementos pueden erosionar los medios de subsistencia de los grupos marginados y, en especial, de las mujeres.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/herlandherstory.com\/get-informed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">las mujeres constituyen la mitad de<\/a>\u00a0poblaci\u00f3n, producen entre 60% y 80% de los productos agr\u00edcolas de los mercados emergentes, as\u00ed como la mayor parte del suministro mundial de alimentos, siguen poseyendo menos de 20% de tierra en todo el mundo. Muchos pa\u00edses niegan -directa o indirectamente- el acceso de las mujeres a la tierra. Aunque existen leyes que permiten a las mujeres acceder a la tierra, el derecho consuetudinario se convierte en una barrera impenetrable para ellas. En la mitad del mundo, las mujeres siguen luchando por poseer, utilizar y heredar la tierra. As\u00ed pues, el ODS 5 aborda la cuesti\u00f3n de lograr la igualdad de g\u00e9nero mediante reformas que conduzcan a un mayor acceso a los recursos econ\u00f3micos, como la tierra.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.landesa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Landesa-Women-and-Land-Issue-Brief.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Posesi\u00f3n de bienes<\/a>\u00a0conduce a un aumento de la independencia y permite a las mujeres desarrollar su voz y su dignidad en el espectro sociopol\u00edtico y econ\u00f3mico. Tambi\u00e9n les da la libertad de desplazarse a mercados locales, centros de salud y otros \u00e1mbitos ajenos al privado. El acceso a la propiedad tambi\u00e9n puede significar una disminuci\u00f3n significativa de la violencia dom\u00e9stica y un aumento de la salud y la estabilidad de la vida de las mujeres y sus familias.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/solidgroundcampaign.org\/blog\/importance-womens-rights-land\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Adem\u00e1s, poseer<\/a>\u00a0La tierra y el acceso a la vivienda conllevan el acceso a las instituciones financieras y jur\u00eddicas, ya que la propiedad puede utilizarse como garant\u00eda o como inicio de una empresa casera.<\/p>\n<p>Por esta raz\u00f3n, H\u00e1bitat para la Humanidad, en colaboraci\u00f3n con 17 aliados globales, lanz\u00f3 la campa\u00f1a de incidencia global Suelo Seguro. A trav\u00e9s de la campa\u00f1a Suelo Seguro, comprometida con mejorar el acceso a la tierra para construir viviendas, H\u00e1bitat para la Humanidad ha trabajado para mejorar el proceso de propiedad de la tierra para las mujeres de todo el mundo.<\/p>\n<p>En Lesotho, H\u00e1bitat para la Humanidad investig\u00f3 la conexi\u00f3n entre g\u00e9nero y tierra para identificar lagunas en las pol\u00edticas que crean barreras para las mujeres.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/solidgroundcampaign.org\/blog\/women%E2%80%99s-access-land-and-housing-lesotho-research-study-launch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">El estudio concluye<\/a>\u00a0que existen lagunas en los derechos de herencia, as\u00ed como otros marcos jur\u00eddicos que dificultan que las mujeres posean tierras. Desde entonces, H\u00e1bitat Lesotho se ha comprometido a buscar formas de mejorar las leyes sobre la tierra y hacerlas igualmente inclusivas y sensibles al g\u00e9nero. Una de las medidas adoptadas para abordar estas cuestiones fue compartir las conclusiones iniciales con otros asociados. H\u00e1bitat Lesotho organiz\u00f3 un evento que reuni\u00f3 a funcionarios de diversas oficinas gubernamentales, como del Departamento de Vivienda, Agrimensura y Planificaci\u00f3n F\u00edsica, la Autoridad de Administraci\u00f3n de Tierras y la Corporaci\u00f3n de Desarrollo de Viviendas y Tierras de Lesotho.  Como resultado, todas estas entidades prometieron trabajar en cuestiones relacionadas con el g\u00e9nero.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/solidgroundcampaign.org\/blog\/importance-womens-rights-land\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">En Bolivia, H\u00e1bitat para la Humanidad<\/a>\u00a0brind\u00f3 a las mujeres la oportunidad de aprender m\u00e1s sobre las leyes que les garantizan el acceso a la tierra y a unas condiciones de vida dignas. H\u00e1bitat Bolivia fund\u00f3 la Escuela de Mujeres L\u00edderes por la Tenencia Segura, que capacit\u00f3 a 30000 mujeres para realizar labores de incidencia. Como resultado, se cre\u00f3 la Red de Mujeres por la Tenencia Segura. Estas mujeres presionaron a las agencias gubernamentales para que a\u00f1adieran el art\u00edculo #647 en la Constituci\u00f3n de Bolivia.\u00a0<em>Regularizaci\u00f3n de derechos de propiedad sobre bienes inmuebles<\/em>\u00a0ley. El gobierno incluy\u00f3 el art\u00edculo que otorgaba a las mujeres el derecho legal a registrar la tierra a su nombre y al de su c\u00f3nyuge. Antes, la tierra s\u00f3lo pod\u00eda registrarse a nombre del marido.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, el trabajo de H\u00e1bitat para la Humanidad no termina aqu\u00ed. Dado que reconocemos la importancia del derecho a la tierra de las mujeres para la vivienda, nos hemos unido a Landesa, el Banco Mundial, la Red Global de Herramientas de la Tierra y la Comisi\u00f3n Huairou en el lanzamiento de la iniciativa\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stand4herland.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">En defensa de su tierra<\/a>\u00a0campa\u00f1a. Stand For Her Land \"trabaja para reforzar los derechos sobre la tierra de las mujeres de todo el mundo, cerrando la brecha entre la ley y la pr\u00e1ctica y ayudando a cumplir las promesas de igualdad de g\u00e9nero\". Otro de sus objetivos es facilitar el acceso de las mujeres a los recursos financieros, fortalecer las comunidades y capacitar a las mujeres ind\u00edgenas para que tomen sus propias decisiones en materia de tierras y otras fuentes.
