Volviendo al principio de su historia, el equipo de emprendedores sociales, dise\u00f1adores digitales y expertos jur\u00eddicos de Sheria Kiganjani lanz\u00f3 su aplicaci\u00f3n m\u00f3vil a finales de 2018 con el fin de llevar servicios jur\u00eddicos e informaci\u00f3n muy necesarios a los tanzanos que viven en comunidades y zonas rurales. Cuando \u00e9ste muri\u00f3, los familiares de su marido se quedaron con todo, incluso con la tierra, alegando que, como mujer, no ten\u00eda derecho a heredar propiedades. Al no conocer sus derechos ni poder acceder o costearse un abogado, se qued\u00f3 sin ayuda.<\/p>\n

\"Saida y 22 millones de tanzanos se enfrentan cada d\u00eda a la falta de acceso a la justicia debido a limitaciones financieras y de otro tipo\", declar\u00f3 Neema Magimba, responsable de asuntos jur\u00eddicos de Sheria Kiganjani. \"Creemos que todo el mundo tiene derecho a acceder a la justicia de forma f\u00e1cil y asequible, por eso ideamos Law On Your Palm\".<\/p>\n

Hasta ahora se han resuelto casi 120 casos gracias al proyecto piloto, y el equipo tiene la ambici\u00f3n de ampliarlo a escala nacional en cuanto disponga de los recursos necesarios.<\/p>\n

Cuando se produjo la pandemia de coronavirus, Sheria Kiganjani y Landesa, miembros de S4HL Tanzania, actuaron con rapidez para afrontar el nuevo reto. A finales de mayo, se form\u00f3 por tel\u00e9fono a parajuristas de la comunidad sobre c\u00f3mo concienciar, recopilar y compartir informaci\u00f3n sobre las repercusiones del COVID-19 en los derechos a la tierra de las mujeres -y, sobre todo, de las viudas-, ya que corren un riesgo especial en el contexto de una crisis.<\/p>\n

\"Proteger los derechos de las mujeres a la tierra es ahora todo un reto sobre el terreno debido a las restricciones de movimiento relacionadas con la pandemia\", afirm\u00f3 Khadija Mrisho, analista de tenencia de tierras de Landesa y miembro de la campa\u00f1a Stand For Her Land.<\/p>\n

\"Al mismo tiempo, la gente sigue viviendo su vida cotidiana. La gente morir\u00e1 y las mujeres seguir\u00e1n a punto de perder sus derechos de sucesi\u00f3n debido a pr\u00e1cticas y costumbres que seguir\u00e1n aplic\u00e1ndose. Este es el caso de una viuda que recientemente inform\u00f3 a la Secretar\u00eda de S4HL Tanzania de que un pariente var\u00f3n hab\u00eda reclamado ilegalmente sus tierras y propiedades en una regi\u00f3n a la que actualmente no puede acceder debido a la pandemia. Los miembros de la campa\u00f1a prev\u00e9n nuevos abusos de los derechos de las mujeres a la tierra a medida que la pandemia siga extendi\u00e9ndose por el pa\u00eds.
