L'\u00e9galit\u00e9 entre les hommes et les femmes est au c\u0153ur des efforts d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle mondiale pour r\u00e9duire l'extr\u00eame pauvret\u00e9 et am\u00e9liorer les moyens de subsistance de tous. Une partie importante de l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 des sexes consiste \u00e0 garantir l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 d'acc\u00e8s des femmes \u00e0 la terre et \u00e0 la propri\u00e9t\u00e9, ainsi que la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de leurs droits en la mati\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

Le renforcement de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 fonci\u00e8re des femmes am\u00e9liore leurs droits et leur dignit\u00e9. Il est important de noter que l'am\u00e9lioration de l'acc\u00e8s des femmes aux ressources \u00e9conomiques et de leur contr\u00f4le sur celles-ci a \u00e9galement un effet positif sur toute une s\u00e9rie d'objectifs de d\u00e9veloppement, notamment la r\u00e9duction de la pauvret\u00e9 et la croissance \u00e9conomique.<\/p>\n

Que savons-nous des droits fonciers des femmes dans le monde ?<\/p>\n

Bien que des progr\u00e8s aient \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s pour accro\u00eetre les protections juridiques des femmes en mati\u00e8re d'utilisation, de gestion, de propri\u00e9t\u00e9 et d'h\u00e9ritage des terres, dans la pratique, les femmes ne sont souvent pas en mesure d'exercer leurs droits sur les terres sur lesquelles elles vivent, travaillent et d\u00e9pendent pour leur survie.<\/p>\n

Dans un blog vid\u00e9o marquant la Journ\u00e9e internationale des femmes rurales, Anna Wellenstein, directrice de la strat\u00e9gie et des op\u00e9rations de la Banque mondiale pour les pratiques sociales, urbaines, rurales et de r\u00e9silience, et Victoria Stanley, sp\u00e9cialiste principale de l'administration fonci\u00e8re, discutent de trois \"titres\" que l'on peut rencontrer sur les femmes et la terre :<\/p>\n

  1. Au niveau mondial, il est admis que la r\u00e9duction de la pauvret\u00e9 passe par la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 fonci\u00e8re et que la part des femmes dans ce domaine est importante.<\/li>\n
  2. Les chercheurs et les d\u00e9cideurs politiques ne disposent pas de suffisamment de donn\u00e9es ventil\u00e9es par sexe au niveau national pour comprendre l'ampleur r\u00e9elle du d\u00e9fi que repr\u00e9sentent les droits fonciers des femmes, mais des efforts sont en cours pour collecter davantage de donn\u00e9es et acqu\u00e9rir une meilleure compr\u00e9hension.<\/li>\n
  3. Il existe des projets pilotes et des initiatives fortes des femmes elles-m\u00eames pour obtenir l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 d'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la terre et am\u00e9liorer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d'occupation, mais ces efforts doivent maintenant passer \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Afin d'\u00e9largir l'impact sur le d\u00e9veloppement et de susciter un changement durable, la Banque mondiale s'associe \u00e0 des partenaires mondiaux et r\u00e9gionaux - Landesa, Global Land Tool Network (GLTN), UN-Habitat, Habitat for Humanity et la Commission Huairou - ainsi qu'\u00e0 des femmes et des communaut\u00e9s locales pour pr\u00e9parer une campagne de sensibilisation visant \u00e0 combler le foss\u00e9 entre la l\u00e9gislation et la pratique en mati\u00e8re de droits fonciers des femmes.<\/p>\n
