Gender & Development — This special issue explores the intersection of gender, land and water rights, climate change, and governance, with a focus on how systemic inequalities impact rural and Indigenous women. Despite playing central roles in agriculture and environmental stewardship, women—especially those from marginalized communities—face exclusion from land tenure, climate adaptation, and governance processes. The issue features research and perspectives from 19 countries, highlighting both structural barriers and the transformative resistance led by women and communities seeking equitable, climate-resilient futures.
