We repudiate the femicide of Eva Amaya in the municipality of Santiago de Tolú
The Coalition of Caribbean Women for the Right to Land and Territory, the ILC Colombia National Coalition for the Rights to Land and Territory, and the Stand for Her Land Campaign, repudiate the femicide of our colleague and friend Eva Amaya in the municipality of Santiago de Tolú, department of Sucre, committed on September 9, 2022.
Eva was a social leader, artisan at heart, chef by passion and economist by profession. She actively supported youth and women's organizations. She loved to dance.
We demand justice in the face of the death of our colleague and express our concern for the material and emotional conditions of Eva's daughter and son.
We urge the Attorney-General's Office to conduct the appropriate investigations and the relevant institutions to ensure the physical and psychosocial well-being of the two minors.
Our rights to land and territory cannot be guaranteed if our bodies, our first territory, can be taken away, deprived of life, or if in our communities being a woman continues to imply death.
Black, indigenous and peasant women love each other. Every time they murder one of us, they not only destroy our souls, but they feed the dignified rage that keeps us on a fighting footing. Today, life hurts.
We will continue to demand our rights as women. We call on the government to guarantee that our rights to life and to work freely are recognized, preserved, and protected. Justice will be served.

Rechazamos el feminicidio de Eva Amaya en el municipio de Santiago de Tolú
La Coalición de mujeres del caribe por el Derecho a la tierra y el territorio, la Coalición Nacional por la Tierra y el Territorio – ENI- Colombia, miembro de la Coalición Internacional por la Tierra, y la Campaña Stand for Her Land, rechaza el feminicidio de nuestra compañera y amiga Eva Amaya en el municipio Santiago de Tolú, departamento de Sucre, cometido el 9 de septiembre de 2022.
Eva era lideresa social, artesana de corazón, chef por pasión y economista de profesión. Apoyaba procesos de jóvenes y mujeres. Amante del arte y le encantaba bailar.
Exigimos justicia frente a la muerte de nuestra compañera y manifestamos nuestra preocupación por las condiciones materiales y emocionales de la hija e hijo de Eva.
Instamos a la Fiscalía General de la Nación a tramitar las investigaciones pertinentes y a las instituciones competentes para garantizar el bienestar físico y psicosocial de les dos menores.
No existe el derecho a la tierra y el territorio, si nuestro primer territorio puede ser usurpado, incluso de la vida misma, y si en los lugares que habitamos el hecho de ser mujeres continúa siendo sinónimo de muerte.
Las mujeres negras, indígenas y campesinas vivas nos queremos. Cada vez que nos asesinan no sólo nos destrozan el alma, sino que avivan la digna rabia que nos mantiene en pie de lucha. Duele la vida hoy.
Reiteramos que seguiremos trabajando por nuestros derechos como mujeres, exigimos garantías para realizar nuestra labor y para la vida. Nuestras muertes no pasaran impunes.
